This project is just going to go on forever until I have a huge stash of white socks. I’ll mark it as finished since a “pair” of socks has been finished, but I plan on having this be a continuous project until baby no longer fits these socks any more.
This seems like a good project to stash in my hospital bag, since it’s so small and the steps are easily memorized. You could get lots of baby socks out of a skein or two.
For the first 6 socks, I used a US1 (2.25mm) needle.
Switched from wood DPNs to a chiaogoo circular in magic loop about halfway through the ribbing, and I’m finding I like magic loop better.
I also messed up a tiny bit just before the Gusset section – I missed the instruction “Final Heel Row(RS): K8 heel sts” so when I started picking up stitches for the gusset, I was on the wrong side. I was able to fix it pretty easily, but leaving this note so I don’t forget that step for sock #2.
1st Sock Complete
First sock finished. I went on autopilot and managed to knit it 3 inches instead of 2.75 inches before starting the toe, but I don’t think it should be too bad.
Sock weight after knitting: 6g
Gauge (before washing): 8 stitches per inch

3rd Sock Complete
Finished right before bed. I think I actually made this one the correct length, too – whenever I get “in the zone” knitting I tend to make them too long, haha.
